Without a doubt, there is too much stuff in the world and this Rooted in Community event intends to help, even incrementally, with this problem. Join us at Rooted HQ for rooted vibes at a flea market of sorts where items are traded or given away.
So what should I bring to swap?
Encouraged items for the Rooted Everything Swap:
altar tools, decor
crystals
trinkets
craft kits
books (at this time limited to witchy-related topics, both nonfiction and fiction)
unused candles
anything that fits in the ethos of the Rooted Realm
*You do not have to bring anything to swap, though it is encouraged!
Anything I shouldn’t bring?
Please do not bring:
clothes! (we are hoping to do a swap dedicated to JUST clothes in the near future!)
items you wouldn’t give to a friend whether their dirty, old, broken, incomplete, etc
items you’re trying to sell
anything that could be considered “furniture” or an “appliance”
How much should I bring?
Though there will be space for everyone at Rooted HQ, we suggest only bringing a singular, banker’s box worth of items. Seeing as this is our first swap, we have zero expectations for turnout, so please don’t overwhelm us with stuff.
What if stuff isn’t swapped?
Take it home! Please do NOT leave any items at Rooted HQ. We suggest donating gently-loved items to:
crystals + witchy stuff: I guess us? Not sure about this one yet, perhaps we start a library of crystals…
books: Columbus Metropolitan Library — contact Allie with Friends of the Library
crafts: Craft Racoon
clothes: Dress for Success, Out of the Closet, other local centers
everything else: Volunteers of America, friends + family
To counteract the overproduction of stuff, we’re hosting an Everything Swap, where guests are encouraged to bring anything that fits with the Rooted Realm (think trinkets, altar decor, crystals) to swap (or gift!) to other guests.
